Middle School Book Club – October, 2011
On Friday October 21, we had our second Middle School Book Club meeting! The 15 students who attended were engaged in the discussion and seemed to enjoy themselves. We discussed Chicken Boy by Frances O’Roark Dowell. While the kids ate their pizza, donated by Piatti, they worked out a major timeline of major events in the main character’s life. They then talked through a series of guided questions about the book.
Our next meeting will be on Friday, November 18 and we will read The Maze Runner by James Dashner. Copies of the book are in the library for interested students.
The book for December will be Waiting for Normal by Leslie Conner. Copies of that book will be available in the library soon.
